Designer T-shirt Issue 2 - Stallion Fight Club!

A stallion is a male horse that is intact (yknow he still has his big dangly bits!) and produces the male hormone testosterone. This hormone can make these magnificent creatures unpredictable, uncooperative and sometimes extremely dangerous.

In the wild, testosterone-fuelled stallions fight over who will get to mate with a herd of mares. The stallions rear on their hind legs kicking with their front hooves and biting at their rival. Stallions can be injured and in extreme cases killed.

They leave the battlefield bloodied and bruised, their ears and necks often bearing witness to the ferocity of the fight. This is a true example of survival of the fittest!

In some countries, such as the Philippines, stallions were pitted against each other for sport. Happily, this practice was outlawed by the Philippine government in 1998...good idea!

Of course, stallions in the wild still fight over who will get the mares.

All we can say is...lucky mares!!!

Stallion Fight Club - T shirt design by Holly Rutter

Holly Rutter is a horse-lover from Zimbabwe who moved to Australia as a young girl. Holly went to graphics arts university in Paddington, Sydney where she refined her creative skills, in part, so she could express her love for horses.

Holly now lives in Perth, Australia and has created a line of natural therapy products for horses. She contributes a percentage of her profits to Second Chance Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation www.schrar.org and hopes to one day open up a Horse Sanctuary.

She has already rescued a horse she called Zulu. (We think Zulu has a pretty happy life now that he's being spoiled by Holly!)

We were proud to feature this special hand-drawn t shirt design by a special girl with a great creative and entreprenuerial spirit.
